A longtime friend of mine asked me if I could make a plastic faced mallet for a specific use. I was more than happy to take on the request.
I decided I would make 2 of the same mallets, one for me and one for him. These mallets are styled after a joiners mallet. They are a bit smaller, and of course feature a plastic head. I made the handles out of a piece of maple log that had been sitting around for quite a long time. Overall, these mallets came out great. Its always nice to have a hammer or mallet with a solid head but more forgiving than steel. I can see these getting a lot of use.
