Well, Its done. (Almost) The second Barncaster guitar has been getting a lot of playing since I completed the wiring and setup. I wired up the Seymour Duncan Invader pickup, as well as the Telecaster neck pickup. I’m really liking the way they sound. The humbucker has a sweet low end that sounds great clean or distorted. The Tele neck pickup has the sparkle and twang you’d expect from a tele. I like the combination of the 2 pickups, there is a fullness from the hubucker and a sparkle from the single coil that sounds great to my ears.
The only issue with this build, is that the nut has the wrong string spacing for this neck. I didn’t realize that when I ordered the parts. I’m not sure if I can get a left handed nut with the correct string spacing for this neck, so I imaging I will have to cut one myself. I’m not too excited about this, but sometimes you just need to suck it up and get it done. Once I get the string spacing issue handled, I’ll install the string trees on the neck. I didn’t install them yet because the strings aren’t in the correct place.
Overall, I really like this guitar. I am very happy with how it turned out. You can check out a video of it below. Thanks for stopping by.
