After making new knife handles and a knife holder, I needed something to use those knives on. In this video, I am making some cutting boards out of Maple, Bubinga, and Walnut. Cutting boards are fairly simple to make, and can be as simple or elaborate as you want. They could be a simple piece of hardwood, or a multi piece laminate made into intricate designs. These boards, came out really nice. I finished them with General Finishes, Salad Bowl Finish. This was the first time I had used this finish. It is really simple to use, although sticky. I would recommend wearing gloves to keep your hands from getting all sticky. All in all, I’m happy with the way these came out and I can definitely see more of these being made soon. They will make great gifts for the upcoming holidays.
