After purchasing another set of Forstner bits, this time a metric set, I am oficially out of room to store them. Its high time I get on this project that I’ve been putting off for a few months.
I went into this project not 100 percent sure how it was going to work. I decided to just jump in and do it. I made some angled blocks that would attach to the wall with a french cleat. Then drilled some holes to hold the bits. I spent some time laying out the holes so I could maximize the space. Using a permanent marker, I hand labeled the racks with the drill sizes. A few coats of laquer, sealed them all up. Then it was just a matter of screwing the french cleat to the wall, and hanging the bit holder.
These racks will make a big difference in my workflow, as I now do not have to dig for a drill bit. I will probably make a couple more for some more bits, but I feel this is a great start.
