Well, we are about to get a short taste of winter here in Colorado. Its supposed to snow tomorrow. It won’t stick around and we’ll be back to warmer temperatures in a few days but it did get me thinking. There are several things I keep in my shop in the summer that need to stay warm in the winter. Since its technically still summer I hadn’t really thought about this. I just wanted to put out a quick reminder not to forget about your wood glues when the temperatures drop. If wood glue freezes, it can affect the integrity of your glue or even ruin it.
The wood glue manufacturers of todays wood glue state that the glue can handle a freeze/that cycle and still be usable but I don’t chance it. I have had a bottle of wood glue freeze just one time and become completely unusable. Now, when the temps dip into freezing territories, all of my glues come inside. I don’t take any chances with freezing my glue. So, just a quick word of caution. Don’t forget your poor glue.
And always remember, If you’re cold, they’re cold. Bring them in.
Go Ahead, Share this meme. I’m cool with it. Lol. (see what I did there)
