I’ve been Challenged to build an Acoustic Guitar

Well, Its official. I’ve been challenged to build an acoustic guitar this year.

I have several friends who have built acoustic guitars, and they have all at some point, asked me when I’m going to make one myself. My answer has always been, “oh I don’t know, I’ll get to it at some point”. Well, my friend Thomas has eliminated that answer for me. Thomas is in the process of learning to build acoustics as well, and has sent me a box of parts to build my own. Now that I have these awesome parts, I have absolutely no excuse not to make an acoustic guitar.

I need to spend some time learning more about the process and figuring out what I need to do first. This isn’t a project that I plan to knock out in the next couple videos, but rather an ongoing project for the year. I need to make some jigs before I can start the assembly process. I imaging some of those jigs will become project videos as well. I’m excited to take on this challenge.

Speaking of challenge, I have a challenge to all of you as well. As we’re still early in the year of 2022, I would like to challenge all of you to tackle that one project or skill that you intend to get to “at some point”. What is that thing you’ve been wanting to build? What is that skill you’ve been wanting to learn? Make this the year that you actually do it. Let’s all make the decision to learn something new this year. How cool will it be to end the year with a project that you kept putting off because you weren’t sure how to do it!

Consider yourself challenged. I want to hear from you all as to what that project is. Keep me updated along the way as well. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you all updated on this acoustic guitar project as well, Lets make this new year, our year to learn new things. Thanks for stopping by.

Check out Thomas on his WatchnLearn channel as well.
