There are 3 tools that I consider the digital manufacturing trifecta. Those tools are the 3D Printer, CNC Machine, and a Laser Engraver. Each of these tools are controlled by a computer in the X, Y, and Z axis, but they perform different tasks. I have the first 2 machines covered, but I don’t yet have a laser engraver. Until now.

Enter the xTool D1 Pro 20 watt diode laser. xTool reached out to me and sent me this D1 Pro to test out, so thats what we are going to do. In todays video, I’ll be unboxing and setting up this laser. Then I’ll use it to make a cool pair of earrings for my daughter.

Now I’ve never used a diode laser before. I have quite a bit of previous experience with CO2 lasers and I know their capabilities. I’m very curious to see how this diode laser compares, so be sure to watch the setup and test video to see how it goes.
