We have a tractor that we use for various tasks around here. Its an International 2400B, which as far as I can tell is the industrial version of a 454. It was made in the mid to late 1970’s and has been through a lot but still keeps going. It sat for quite some time years ago, and the gas tank has a bit of rust in it. I’ve been able to get a lot of it out but occasionally some small particles make their way into the carburetor and plug things up. Over the last few years, I’ve taken this Marvel Schebler carburetor apart to clean it out, but I never had new gaskets on hand when I put it back together. The last time I took it apart, one of the gaskets began to tear, so I thought it would be a great time to actually do a proper rebuild.
I ordered up a rebuild kit from Steiner Tractor (not sponsored) and proceeded with the rebuild. This process is really quite easy due to the fact that these carburetors aren’t very complicated. If you have an old piece of equipment like this that could use a little love, don’t be afraid of tearing into it and getting it fixed up. I made a video to help with the whole rebuild process. You can find it below.
Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by.
