Tin Pants, 6 Month Update

Several of you have asked for an update on my Homemade Tin Pants. Here’s the 6 month update.

They have been holding up very well. I can see no signs of wear in the fabric. There are just a few small areas in the folds of the fabric where I can see the fibers have become uncovered. This will be super easy to touch up.

Overall, I really like these Tin Pants in cooler weather when I can wear thermals underneath them. To me they feel a little strange without thermals. They are nice and windproof and the water resistance keeps me nice and dry in snowy, damp weather. As expected, the wax doesn’t allow the material to breathe so, when the weather gets warmer they’re quite uncomfortable. I’ll be putting them away now until next winter. I’m happy to have made these.

Here’s the quick update video for you to check out.

If you haven’t seen the video where I made them, here it is.
