Have you ever finished up a large woodworking project and been left with a bunch of scrap pieces left over that are just a little too large to throw away? You just know there is something you can make from them. This napkin holder is just the project to use up those scraps.
We had one of these wooden napkin holders on our table when I was a kid. In fact, I believe that same piece is still in use to this day. I thought it would be fun to recreate it using some leftovers from the Saddle Stand I recently completed. Check out the Saddle Stand here.
This project uses only a small amount of wood, so you can glue up about whatever pieces you have to make it. The only other thing you might need are dowels. You could use just about any dowel you might have, just be sure to leave about 6 1/4″ between the dowels and you should be good to go. This is one of those projects that you can take as far as you want. I’ve left mine as the base model. You could change the shape and size if you want. The only dimension you need to really worry about is the spacing between the dowels. Have fun with it and make it your own. My goal here is to share the idea with you and you can run with it.
I’d love to see your napkin holders. If you made one, let me know. Leave a comment if you did.
