Q&A: How I make my videos (Jan 2018)

Several people have asked me about my video gear and how I make my videos. I decided I would start another Youtube Playlist, and start doing some Q&A occasionally. This first episode, I hopefully answer your questions about my setup.
I have a fairly simple process for producing my videos. I do all of my shooting on a Canon T4i, DSLR camera. Ive had this camera for several years, in fact it is now discontinued. It still works well despite all the sawdust getting on, and probably in it. On top of the camera, is a Rode videomic capturing all of the audio. I use this mic for almost every bit of audio, including voice overs. Once in a while, I’ll include an overhead shot taken on my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone. From the camera, all of the video gets dumped into an older version of Sony Vegas Movie Studio. I do all of my editing and rendering here. Once the edit is complete, I then upload to Youtube and publish a short post on the website.
I hope I have answered some of your questions about this process. If you have other questions or Q&A ideas, just let me know. I will try to occasionally do more of these. Don’t worry, the project videos are still coming. I have several in the works right now. Thanks for stopping by.
